Situation and next step
| Situation | Sensible next step |
|---|---|
| Instructions expressly permit a product | Follow the stated dilution and contact time exactly. |
| Instructions are missing or unclear | Confirm with the manufacturer or competent service provider first. |
| Another cleaner is already present | Do not add bleach or mix chemicals. |
Why generic toilet advice is unreliable
A chemical that is acceptable on ceramic may be unsuitable for seals, switches or internal macerator parts. The appliance instructions take priority over generic cleaning tips.
Safer decision rule
Identify the model, find the current manufacturer guidance and use only a compatible product as directed. If that cannot be established, avoid the chemical.
Never mix cleaning products
Mixing bleach with acids or ammonia-containing products can release dangerous gases. Keep products separate and follow their safety labels.
